Making the Scents
Making a scent is a journey, especially when the goal is to stay organic, and all-natural.
Let me walk you through the struggle of finding a way to make Coconut into a scent. Coconut does not actually have a scent, it has a flavor. So, finding a way to imbue a scent that is an artificial construct has been incredibly difficult. Years have been spent researching, looking things up, checking the new techniques, all to see if someone, somewhere has figured something out in the organic and all-natural community.
The strength of the oils is another variable in making the perfect product. A good smell can be ruined by being too strong, a smell that's not strong enough could lead to disappointment.
Finding The Scent
Figuring out which scent to try and make is sometimes the easiest step. Scent ideas are everywhere around us; things we smell, things we eat, things we have only ever dreamed of making into scents, all of these are scents that might be possible.
Making the Scent
Making the scent a reality is sometimes the hardest part of the whole process. The first thing to look at is, can the scent be made using organic and all-natural ingredients? Sometimes it is easy to make a scent, to find the correct ingredients, mix them perfectly, and have a perfect product, such as the Peppermint or Lavender Mint scents. Sometimes it is not so easy.

Coconut scent was the first temptation in making Maegan's Mazin' as well. It would be very easy to use an artificial scent and just label the product 95% All-Natural. It would still be, mostly, everything that the original Maegan's Mazin' was, but the decision was made to not step onto that slippery slope.
So, while some scents, you would think, would be easy to make organically and all-naturally, sometimes it just doesn't work out that way. My promise to you is this, I will always try, I will not just write something off because a quick Google search says there isn't an organic and all-natural way to create the scent.
Making the Product
The wonderful part of making a new product is, I can make the base blend then separate out small batches to test the blend of essential oils. Sometimes it's not very hard to find the right blend, if the scent requires two or more essential oils; sometimes it takes quite a few tries.

Finally, the product has to be tested by people other than myself, and my husband. Our opinion is awesome, but the wonderful Mbassadors for Maegan's Mazin' make sure that the scent is perfect, the product is perfect, and it's ready to be given to the world.
